Rep. Raul Labrador was booed and jeered at an Idaho town hall on Friday when he told audience members "nobody dies because they don't have access to healthcare."
"Nobody wants anybody to die," said the Idaho Republican, who had voted for the American Health Care Act the day before, reports The Washington Examiner. "You know that line is so indefensible. Nobody dies because they don't have access to healthcare."
The bill repeals and replaced much of Obamacare, with Republicans saying the measure will allow states to regain control of health insurance systems, and to make their own decisions on certain requirements such as high risk coverage.
Democrats though say the bill will cause millions of people to lose health insurance coverage while denying coverage for several pre-existing conditions, and have been packing GOP lawmakers' town halls, such as Labrador's, to voice their complaints..
