The political arm of the Koch brothers network is set to launch the first phase of a multi-million dollar ad campaign against the trade policies of President Donald Trump, CNBC reports.
Freedom Partners will unveil a six-figure TV and radio campaign that paints Trump's tariffs as "taxes that make Americans poorer," CNBC reports. The TV spots will begin airing June 25 in Washington, D.C.
Further, Freedom Partners, along with two other outlets that are part of the Charles Koch and David Koch vast network, are sending a letter to Congress on Wednesday, asking lawmakers to support the Global Trade Accountability Act, a bill sponsored by Sen. Mike Lee.
"Tariffs are taxes that make Americans poorer. They raise our cost of living and force higher expenses on our businesses," Freedom Partners VP James Davis told CNBC in a statement. "These ads are an important part of our overall campaign, which also includes significant plans for grassroots mobilization and public education."
