A new poll shows musician Kid Rock has a strong lead in the race to represent the Republican Party in the 2018 Michigan Senate election.

According to the Washington Examiner, a survey by Zogby Analytics displayed the following results:

  • Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Richie, has 29 percent support.
  • Lena Epstein has 7 percent support.
  • John James has 5 percent support.
  • Bob Young Jr. has 3 percent support.

It's worth pointing out that 56 percent of those polled said they are undecided about who they will vote for. Further, the Examiner said that incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow, a Democrat, garnered 10 more points of support than Kid Rock in another Zogby poll.

Kid Rock has hinted at potentially running for Stabenow's seat. Over the summer he unveiled a logo, campaign sign, and a campaign website, although reports say he has yet to officially register to run.

A Marketing Resource Group poll conducted this month, meanwhile, showed Stabenow leading Kid Rock 52 percent to 34 percent.
