Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., is attacking Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., in a new six-figure television ad as their Senate race heats up, the Washington Examiner is reporting.
The 30-second ad will run statewide in North Dakota on broadcast and cable television. It will also have a digital component, the Examiner said.
The ad blasts Heitkamp on veterans' issues, while acknowledging her likeability.
"I like Heidi," says retired Air Force Reserve Lt. Col. Patricia Traynor in the ad. "Who doesn't like Heidi? But I don't like the way she votes in Washington."
A second veteran adds: "Cramer has, time and time again, supported veterans hospitals."
Meanwhile, VoteVets Action Fund is reportedly running TV ads in North Dakota blasting Cramer for comments about the military and for votes relating to Veterans Affairs funding, Roll Call reported.
"Congressman Kevin Cramer has turned his back on our veterans and service members," a narrator says in the ad, according to Roll Call.
Roll Call noted Heitkamp, running in a state where President Donald Trump won by 36 points, is considered one of the most vulnerable Democratic senators up for re-election this year.
