Georgia Gov. Kemp Urges Signature Audit After 'Smoking Gun' Video Emerges

(Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle")

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is calling for a signature audit after video footage emerged allegedly showing Fulton County poll workers counting ballots without monitors present.

A private security firm inside Atlanta's State Farm Arena provided the surveillance video to Trump campaign lawyers at 1 a.m. ET on Thursday, attorney Jacki Pick told Newsmax TV's "Stinchfield" on Thursday.

"Yes, people were sent home, told to stop working, stop counting, but some people stayed behind: Sure enough, just as our poll watchers – well, our monitors – had said," Pick maintained.

Pick, who presented the evidence to the state Senate earlier Thursday, said the video shows suitcases being pulled from under a table covered by a black cloth — purportedly holding thousands of ballots.

As result of the video, Kemp called for the signature audit Thursday during an interview on the Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle."

"I think it should be done," he said. "I think especially [given] what we saw [Thursday].

"It raises more questions."

He also called it "concerning."

But he noted the power in the state to make the order rests with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a fellow Republican.

"Hopefully, the secretary of state will update us on exactly what was going on: I have heard they had a monitor there," Kemp said. "I think it would be good for him to come out and say exactly what was going on. But I think this also gives him an opportunity to really look at specifically at the Fulton County recount that's still going on to make sure that that recount has been done in the right way, and that we know if these were ballots, were they counted correctly, and if there were signatures on that."

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani called the video a "smoking gun from Georgia" in a Thursday tweet.

And Jenna Ellis, a lawyer for Trump campaign, responded to Kemp's comments by tweeting, "@TrumpTeam requested signature verification FIVE TIMES."

Trump said signature checks in the presidential race is a way of making certain incumbent Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., and Kelly Loeffler, R-Ga., win their Jan. 5 runoffs.

The president tweeted:

"The best way to insure a @KLoeffler and @sendavidperdue VICTORY is to allow signature checks in the Presidential race, which will insure a Georgia Presidential win (very few votes are needed, many will be found). Spirits will soar and everyone will rush out and VOTE! @BrianKempGA."
