President Donald Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway cancelled an appearance on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight" Wednesday for reasons "that were not exactly clear," the host announced.
The cancellation came about an hour before the show's 8 pm EST air time, Carlson said.
At 6 p.m. Wednesday, the Justice Department announced the appointment of FBI veteran Robert Mueller as a special counselor to lead a probe of Russia's meddling in the election, and ties to the Trump campaign.
"Kellyanne Conway was going to be sitting in that seat," Carlson told viewers. "We had booked her at [the White House's] request. We don't often have people from the administration on, but they said 'we want to send over Kellyanne Conway' – great."
"Then, not long before air, they canceled it, for reasons that were not exactly clear."
