John Podesta, the former campaign chairman for Hillary Clinton, took to Twitter on Tuesday to claim he was the victim of a "big lie campaign" by President Donald Trump.
Podesta's brother, Tony, a prominent Democratic donor and lobbyist, has come under scrutiny from the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, The New York Times reported. Tony Podesta stepped down on Monday from the firm the Podesta Group, a company he co-founded.
The Podesta Group was referenced, but not by name, in an indictment of former Donald Trump presidential campaign officials, Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, the Times reported. No charges have been filed against Tony Podesta or the Podesta Group, although the firm has been subpoenaed for records.
On Tuesday, Trump called attention to the Podesta brothers in morning tweets.
