onnecticut is getting a head start on the process, Politico reports.
He has asked his entire staff to resign and submit their resumes, so he can figure out whom to retain, knowledgeable sources tell the news service. The request covers his personal office, leadership and district staff. “In general, he’s recognizing that the budget will change,” one of the sources says. “He wants flexibility to make staff changes.”
It’s standard practice for legislators to ask for some staffers’ resumes, so they can see who’s willing to leave. But congressmen rarely go this far. House Democrats anticipate major staff shrinkage in the weeks and months ahead.
