Ohio Gov. John Kasich signed a bill Monday that expands concealed carry laws to include daycare centers, college campuses, airport terminals and certain government buildings.

The decision closely follows an attack at Ohio State University, in which Abdul Razak Ali Artan killed 13 people.

Senate Bill 199, called by gun control advocates the "guns everywhere" bill, will take effect in 90 days, and will remove the statewide ban on carrying concealed handguns in certain areas, including in their vehicles while parked in private business lots.

"Governor Kasich ignored the concerns of law enforcement, business leaders, gun violence survivors, moms, daycare providers, campus stakeholders and students," Michele Mueller, head of Ohio's chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, said in a statement according to Cleveland.com. "By signing Senate Bill 199, Governor Kasich is siding with gun lobby interests over public safety."

According to The Columbus Dispatch, Ohio concealed-carry permits jumped 59 percent in the third quarter of this year.

On Twitter, reactions to the signing were mixed.
