Former ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton on Friday said the G7 summit gives President Donald Trump an "opportunity to make some pretty powerful comments" about the global threats most everyone there faces.
A guest on Fox News' "America's Newsroom," Bolton said the G7 is the perfect setting for Trump to make his points about the refugee crisis, terrorism and how better to work together in the wake of the Manchester bombing.
"He's got an opportunity to make some pretty powerful comments," Bolton told Fox. "This is a time to be very realistic about the threats that everybody — with the exception of Japan — around that table is facing."
Bolton said the summit will be a far different way to end the trip versus the easy way Trump started it.
"Make no mistake, [the G7] is a lot tougher for everybody than the trip to Saudi Arabia," Bolton said. "I'm sure he'll be vigorous in stating his positions and it'll be good for the others to hear that."
