Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Thursday hit out at President Donald Trump and his campaign for promoting claims that he had improper business dealings with a Ukrainian energy company, according to CNBC.
“I know these are anxious times,” Biden told attendees at a fundraiser the day after The New York Post published a series of articles accusing the former vice president of meeting with an Ukrainian energy executive at Burisma, on behalf of his son, Hunter Biden, who sat on the company’s board at the time.
“I appreciate everything you’re doing for the campaign,” he said. “We have 19 days left, and you know, he’s going to throw everything but the kitchen sink at me.”
Biden also said, “I think you’ve put me in a position to be able to respond in real time in a way that we can compete.”
His campaign said on Wednesday that several investigations, including two from Republican-controlled Senate panels, determined that the former vice president “carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing.”
