Fmr. Congressman to Mueller: 'Ignore Your Critics, Pursue the Truth'

Radio host and former GOP congressman Joe Walsh took to Twitter on Wednesday thanking special counsel Robert Mueller for his work in the investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election.  

I just want to thank Robert Mueller for his service.

Thank you for serving this country and doing your best to defend the rule of law.

Most Americans have faith in you. Ignore your critics and pursue the truth.

President Donald Trump and other Republicans have criticized Mueller, casting doubt on his integrity in the investigation.

Walsh, who represented Illinois as a congressman, followed up that tweet with additional praise for Mueller.

Groups of former U.S. attorneys and Republican and conservative officials on Friday posted letters in support of Mueller's probe, saying he should be allowed to continue his work "free from interference or fear of reprisal."
