Former Vice President Joe Biden said student activists who survived the Valentine's Day school shooting in Parkland, Florida, were "going to win" the battle they're waging for tighter gun control laws, The Washington Times reported.
"They're going to win," Biden told NBC News Friday, and then issued a dare, saying, "Watch."
"We can beat the NRA," said Biden, who served as a senator from Delaware before becoming vice president. "I passed a bill that banned assault weapons, banned the number of bullets that can be in a clip, changed the background check. It's doable. We'll do it again, because of these kids."
Biden was scheduled to hold a private meeting on Capitol Hill Friday with student activists who survived last month's mass shooting at Florida's Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School prior to a March for Our Lives rally on Saturday. Seventeen people died in the shooting and an estimated 17 others were injured in the attack.
