Former Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday will announce a number of high-profile members of the Biden Institute Policy Advisory Board, Axios reports.
The Biden Institute, the public policy and administration school at the University of Delaware, will name over a dozen members, including Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, Jim Murren, former Energy Secretary Ernie Moniz, and Arturo S. Rodríguez, the President of United Farm Workers of America, among others.
Biden also released a blog post for the institute on Thursday, titled "A Plan to Put Work — and Workers — First," in which he outlines a three-part plan to keep "Americans working and succeeding in the era of automation and globalization."
"First, we need to make sure hard-working Americans have the skills and opportunities to succeed in the jobs of the future," he wrote.
"Second, we need to make sure people are paid fairly for their work. Those who work hard and do their part should share in the benefits, allowing them to earn a good living and get ahead.
"And third, we need policies that allow the middle class to maintain or improve their standard of living. A small pay raise doesn't help much if the costs of housing, health care, and education are rising significantly more."
Biden will also host an event Thursday morning in Washington, D.C., where he "and leaders from the higher education, business, advocacy, and policy sectors will convene and discuss solutions to ensure workers succeed in an era of automation and globalization," the institute announced.
