While the Republican presidential primary debates are going to take center stage Wednesday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Biden-Harris campaign is set to present their own message.
The president's campaign has announced a $25 million media blitz to counter the GOP messaging with a focus on Hispanic and African American media and key battleground states.
"As Republicans head to the debate stage next week to put on display their extreme and out-of-touch positions, we are investing in reaching Americans across the country with President Biden and Vice President Harris' message for the middle class and for Americans' fundamental freedoms," Biden-Harris campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez wrote in a statement.
The ads will run for the next four months during the GOP primary debate season, capitalizing on large American viewership during the kickoff of the NFL season and through baseball's World Series.
Ads will be featured on premium digital placements like YouTube Reserve, Hulu, and on Connected TV, and will also be placed in short-form video on Instagram and YouTube Shorts, the campaign announced in a news release.
"This historic buy ensures that the president's message reaches all Americans where they receive their news, and sends a clear sign that we are investing in an aggressive, meaningful, and effective paid media strategy," Rodriguez added.
"While Republicans duke it out in Milwaukee over their divisive and unpopular agenda, President Biden is amplifying his winning message and leadership as a president for all Americans."
The states targeted are Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — showing the locales the Democrats view as the key battlegrounds again for 2024. The Black and Hispanic media are going to be leveraged by the campaign, according to the release.
The Florida plans include targeted messaging on Hispanic voters.
