It's "probably no accident" that Iran is trying to help Democrat nominee Joe Biden by targeting Democrat voters with threats if they don't vote for President Donald Trump after the Obama-Biden administration "gave them a bunch of money," Rep. Jim Jordan claimed Thursday.
"The real story is the Never Trumpers' Lincoln Project is using that information to go after the president," the Ohio Republican said on Fox News' "Fox & Friends."
On Wednesday, U.S. officials accused Iran of being behind emails sent to Democrat voters in multiple battleground states that appeared to be aimed at intimidating them into voting for Trump, and said Iran and Russia had gotten hold of U.S. voters' information.
Jordan said this isn't the first time disinformation has been used to "go after" Trump.
"Remember during the impeachment Fiona Hill said the dossier was Russian disinformation and the people that used it got played by the Russians," said Jordan.
Jordan also slammed Rep. Adam Schiff after he commented that the effort was made to suppress Democrats' votes and that he can't see "how that could be hurtful to the president." Schiff's comments came after Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe's comments that the emails were sent out to harm Trump.
"John Ratcliffe is a good man doing a great job for this country," said Jordan. "Adam Schiff should not be questioning anyone's trustworthiness when he was the guy who told us that he had no contact with the [impeachment] whistleblower and we know for a fact that his staff met with the whistleblower. So the idea that he is now going to be the guy who can talk about credibility. You have got to be kidding me."
He also noted that based on former CIA Director John Brennan's notes, 2016 Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton was behind the accusations concerning Trump and Russia.
"Now [Schiff] is lecturing us about John Ratcliffe who is doing a good job," said Jordan. "That should tick every American off and persuade them to go vote for President Trump even more. That really makes me mad to hear Adam Schiff say that."
