Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., who wrote the book claiming to have a "Conscience of a Conservative," has rejected GOP President Donald Trump and refused to run again for the Senate, but reportedly admitted he keeps in touch with liberal former President Barack Obama.
"There's not much place for a Republican like me in a party like this right now," Flake told "The Axe Files" on Saturday.
Flake added he still talks with Obama, however, and took a call from the former president when he decided to not seek re-election for the Senate.
"The last night he was in the White House, the day before inauguration he called just to say that he enjoyed working with me," Flake told "The Axe Files." "And I certainly said the same. He didn't have to do that. It was very nice."
Flake has been a frequent critic of President Trump and has not ruled out running against President Trump in 2020.
