Ivanka Trump on Monday praised her father for signing the $738 billion National Defense Authorization Act, tweeting that he was "rebuilding our military, authorizing major investment in vital equipment for our forces."
"In signing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) President @realdonaldtrump is rebuilding our military, authorizing major investment in vital equipment for our forces," President Donald Trump's eldest daughter, a senior White House adviser, said in one post.
She then listed some of the weaponry to be developed under the NDAA, including:
- "F-35, F/A-18, and F-15EX combat aircraft.
- "UH-60M Blackhawks, AH-64 Apaches, MH-47G Chinooks, CH-53K King Stallions.
- "Abrams tanks and Stryker combat vehicles.
- "Virginia-class submarines, Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, a guided missile frigate, amphibious ships — and more."
President Trump signed the defense bill on Dec. 20, as part of a $1.4 trillion spending measure to keep the government funded through Sept. 30, calling NDAA "the largest-ever investment" in the U.S. military.
The legislation also established a Space Force as a sixth branch of the military, one of the president's key priorities for the Pentagon.
"Today's signing of the 2020 NDAA is a watershed event in the truest sense of the word," Trump said at the signing at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
