Iowa’s Democratic Party on Sunday released results showing that former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg was the winner of the caucuses after it updated data from 55 precincts, even though all errors have not apparently been corrected, The New York Times reports.

Internal party emails revealed that although the Democrats made another check of almost 5% of the precincts that were problematic, it did not correct mistakes that appeared on the official handwritten tally sheets.

Instead, it only fixed differences between the data as recorded on the sheets and results that were officially reported to the public.

A lawyer for the party said that even glaring miscalculations on the worksheets could not be changed because they were a legal record and altering them would be a crime.

The new data shows that Buttigieg should have one more national delegate for a total of 14. Sen. Bernie Sanders follows with 12, Sen. Elizabeth Warren 8, former Vice President Joe Biden 6, and Sen. Amy Klobuchar one.

However, almost a week after the caucuses, these results continue to be disputed and are not final, as the Democratic Party said campaigns have until noon on Monday to ask for the vote count across Iowa be checked again.

Sanders has claimed he won the caucuses because he had the most total supporters in both rounds of voting.

The Vermont senator told CNN on Sunday that the Iowa Democratic Party “screwed it up badly,” saying the confusion was “an embarrassment, it was a disgrace to the good people of Iowa who take their responsibilities in the caucuses very seriously.”
