Scott Walker, who is set to officially announce his presidential candidacy on July 13, is currently atop the crowded GOP field in Iowa, but the Wisconsin governor's lead is likely to tighten by the time Iowans meet for their caucuses on Feb. 1, the state's GOP chairman says.
"Everything right now is so fluid," Jeff Kaufmann told
"The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York on Sunday. "It's like a straw poll a week."

"I don’t see that gap between Gov. Walker and the other candidates … holding where it’s at right now," he told host John Catsimatidis. "I think this thing is going to tighten."
On the Republican side, Kaufmann said Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is picking up steam on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, but he doesn't see Sanders beating Clinton in Iowa.
But, he added, "From the Republican point of view, I actually see Sanders’ strength as a positive, because I think that’s more a reflection of resistance to Hillary’s coronation than it is necessarily people getting behind Bernie Sanders per se," he said.
