Rep. Mike Quigley, D-Ill., on Wednesday described the whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump as "deeply disturbing," adding, "I can't detail what it involves, period."

"I can't detail that it involves any call," Quigley, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, told Wolf Blitzer on CNN. "I will tell people that it is deeply disturbing."

The Trump administration provided copies of the 11-page complaint to members of the House and Senate intelligence committees late Wednesday before acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire testifies to Congress on Thursday.

The House panel is among five lower-chamber committees that will be investigating President Donald Trump for possible impeachment, Speaker Nancy Pelsoi, D-Calif., said Tuesday.

The complaint in part involves a July 25 telephone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the call, Trump suggested Zelensky work with Attorney General William Barr and personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani to investigate former Vice President and Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Trump on Wednesday defended the call.

"There was no pressure, the way you had that built up that call," he told reporters at the United Nations. "It was going to be the call from hell.

"It turned out to be a nothing call, other than a lot of people said, 'I never knew you could be so nice.'"

Quigley, 60, in his sixth congressional term, told Blitzer the whistleblower's complaint "reinforces the concerns that what we previously learned — and I think it is a blueprint for what we still need to know.

"It lays out exactly what Congress needs to investigate."
