While support for Democrats' impeaching the president is back on the rise, President Donald Trump's approval rating remains steady in the latest CNN Poll conducted by SSRS.
President Trump's approval rating did not move from the April edition of the poll, sitting at 43%, but the support for impeachment has risen four points from 37% last month to 41%. That latter figure is still lower than that of December (43%) and a high-water mark of 47% last September, CNN reported.
Democrats in the poll are leading the impeachment push, as 76% favor it, per the poll.
But, overall, both impeachment and presidential approval are behind the majority as President Trump's disapproval is at 52% and 54% are against impeachment, according to CNN.
As weak as the numbers might seem on President Trump, CNN reports former President Ronald Reagan had a similar approval rating at this stage of his administration in 1983, while former President Jimmy Carter was at a mere 32% at this point.
The CNN Poll surveyed 1,006 adults between May 28-31 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.
