It’s only been hours since Tim Pawlenty ended his bid for the Republican nomination for president, but members of his staff are already finding new homes. The former Minnesota governor’s New Hampshire campaign director, Sarah Crawford Stewart, has signed on with the Jon Huntsman team, the
New Hampshire Union Leader reported.
"Gov. Huntsman is committed to winning the New Hampshire primary, and I look forward to helping him and his team do just that," the Union Leader quotes Stewart as saying. "I viewed Gov. Huntsman as somebody with exceptional governing experience. And I viewed him as someone who would be the strongest competitor against President Obama in a general election."
Stewart joins the Huntsman team as a senior adviser in a paid consultancy capacity. Stewart was the John McCain’s deputy campaign manager during the 2008 primaries. Huntsman’s campaign told ABC News that Stewart is a “true asset and we are happy that she has embraced Gov. Huntsman's campaign."
