Huckabee Wants to Know Why Obama Didn't Fight Russian Meddling

Huckabee Wants to Know Why Obama Didn't Fight Russian Meddling

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, like President Donald Trump, said Thursday he wants to know why former President Barack Obama didn't do anything about Russian meddling in the 2016 election if he knew it was going on.

"Why didn't he send notices out to the election officials in all 50 states saying be on the lookout for attempts to hack into your electronic voting systems," the former GOP presidential candidate told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"Why didn't he say to the entire nation there were indications that information is being spread falsely about the election?"

Obama would not have had to say which candidate was being targeted, said Huckabee, or could have said it was not known exactly what Russia intended to do.

"Why didn't he say that?" said Huckabee. "Because he didn't think it was a big threat. The best we know is that sometime in September, he said to Putin, 'hey, you guys, cut it out.' Now, that's it. That was all there was.

"And for us to now be acting like that this was the most amazing, biggest, colossal thing that ever happened in the history of American politics, is absurd."

Meanwhile, the left and mainstream media fails to recognize not only the economic changes that have happened in the United States since Trump took office, but his help for Eastern Europe against Russia.

"The Patriot missiles for Poland, that sends a real signal to the Russians to stand back," said Huckabee. "The Polish people are wonderful people. They fought hard. They put up resistance against the Nazis and against communists.

"They were the first to be invaded by the Nazis. So [they are] important ones to understand what freedom means."

Trump has spoken to Poland's heart and character, said Huckabee, and it was good for him to go there to thank them for paying their fair share to NATO.

"The Polish people are exceptional people," said Huckabee. "They're good to Americans. They are wonderful people. I can't think of a better place for Donald Trump to begin this tour than Poland. "
