Montana's Democratic nominee for the state's open House seat has raised more than $5 million ahead of next week's special election to fill a vacancy left by Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke.
The campaign for Rob Quist announced the Democrat's massive war chest includes more than 200,000 individual contributions made in 85 days, The Hill reported.
Quist is aiming to upset GOP nominee Greg Gianforte in the May 25 vote in a state President Donald Trump won by more than 20 points last November. Both Vice President Mike Pence and Donald Trump Jr. have stumped for the Republican nominee.
According to Federal Election Commission data, Gianforte has raised more than $3.3 million from late January to early May, The Hill reported.
