Even as President Donald Trump presses for passage of the American Health Care Act, the conservative House Freedom Caucus remains opposed to the bill designed to replace Obamacare.
A Twitter account, which two news outlets identify as belonging to the caucus, posted this tweet:
The Hill notes the caucus has about 40 members and said it is unclear how many of them will actually vote to reject the healthcare package.
But it points out sentiment in the cause appears to run strongly against the legislation. Many members are pushing for it to go further in replace Obamacare, The Hill reports.
The Washington Examiner notes the group's vote could splinter. It points out that House Majority Whip Steve Scalise had made a deal with 12 members of the Republican Study Committee and the House Freedom Caucus to gain support.
Those changes included optional Medicaid block grants and work incentives for able-bodied Medicare recipients, according to the website.
