The Republican National Committee (RNC) has tapped veteran Miami TV and radio host Helen Aguirre Ferré as its new Hispanic communications director in a bid to attract Spanish-speaking voters to the party,
The Miami Herald reports.
"Helen will be an integral part of our Party's ongoing commitment to build relationships and communicate our message directly with Hispanic voters," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus told the newspaper.
There's no question the job will be challenging.
Ferré, who was a senior adviser to Jeb Bush's presidential campaign, must now work to help elect the former Florida governor's bitter enemy, Donald Trump, who has a fractured relationship with Hispanics.

The New York Times reported that Ruth Guerra, the RNC's head of Hispanic media relations is leaving her job this month to join a GOP-aligned super PAC that will focus on congressional races, The New York Times reports. The reason, she was reportedly uncomfortable working to promote Trump's candidacy.
