Hillary Clinton is "terrified of the left" and it could end up hurting her in the presidential general election, says Bloomberg TV host Mark Halperin.
"I do not think it is going well," Halperin said of Clinton's campaign on
Thursday's "With All Due Respect."
"My supposition is that she is so terrified of losing Iowa … she is forgetting the fact that there is a general election to come. She is terrified of the left and it is showing on a range of issues."
His co-host John Heilemann said the left will "never be satisfied" unless Clinton becomes identical to Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who members of the far left have been urging to run against Clinton.
But he said Clinton has not yet talked enough policy to damage herself in a general election.
Clinton "seems to have moved a little bit to the left on same-sex marriage. From the way she is talking, from the way her campaign is responding, she is terrified of the left. Their demands will never end," Halperin said.
"If she continues to cater — that is the energy of the party, you see Republicans doing it all the time — it will hurt her chances of winning the general," he said.
