Hillary Clinton is blasting President Donald Trump for not taking action after reports say tests on Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny showed the presence of the Soviet-era nerve agent Novichok.

Her comments came in a Thursday tweet. The German government said Wednesday that tests performed on samples taken from Navalny revealed the nerve agent.

Navalny had become ill on a flight back to Moscow from Siberia on Aug 20. He was taken to a hospital in the Siberian city of Omsk after the plane made an emergency landing.

He was later transferred to a hospital in Berlin.

Novichok was also used to poison former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Great Britain.

In her tweet, Clinton wrote: “It’s been confirmed that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was poisoned with the same nerve agent used on other Putin critics. Meanwhile, Trump does nothing. We deserve leaders who are strong enough to stand up to (Vladimir) Putin and defend democracy.”
