Chad Wolf, Ken Cuccinelli, and Mark Morgan, who served as top Homeland Security officials in the Trump administration, are joining the Heritage Foundation.
The three, all defenders of former President Donald Trump’s immigration policy, will work at Heritage as fellows starting Monday, Axios reported.
Wolf, who served as acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, will concentrate on national security projects at Heritage. The projects will include issues relating to China and cybersecurity, Axios noted.
“During my time at DHS, Heritage was a strong partner with the Department across a range of issues, to include China, immigration, border security, and combating human trafficking, and many others that affect our homeland,” Wolf told Axios. “I am honored and excited to work closely with the talented Heritage team to continue to advance these issues.”
Both Cuccinelli, who served as acting deputy secretary, and Morgan, who headed Customs and Border Protection, will center their efforts at Heritage on immigration and border security.
Cuccinelli had warned earlier this month that thousands of migrants expected to reach the U.S.-Mexico border in the coming weeks could spark a surge in coronavirus cases. He said the Biden administration’s scaled-back immigration policies will yield "way more than you bargained for."
