President Barack Obama's failure to confront radical Islam will hurt Democrats' hopes of winning either house of Congress or the White House in the near future, says Hank Sheinkopf, former adviser to President Bill Clinton.
Appearing Sunday on "The Cats Roundtable"
AM 970 in New York, Sheinkopf criticized Obama for not declaring radical Islam as the cause of international terrorism. People will continue to be upset with him over the issue, Sheinkopf said.

"He’s going to trade that anger, which is going to make it a lot more difficult for Democrats to get into power again," he said. "People don’t generally vote on foreign policy issues in this country. But it is difficult when you see Americans and other human beings have their heads removed with knives, and you see it on the Internet."
Sheinkopf said Hillary Clinton will have even more trouble from Obama in her expected 2016 run for the presidency because Obama won't want to cede the party leadership back.
"It hasn't been the Clinton party in quite some time, and there certainly is a rivalry between the Clintons and the Obamas, he said.
Besides, Sheinkopf said, "no one likes to get off the stage," and Obama is a relatively young man.
