Nikki Haley: Biden a 'Very Good Guy' But Nice Doesn't Work at the UN

Democrat nominee Joe Biden is a "very good guy," former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley conceded Tuesday, but his niceness is not what the United States needs moving forward.

"I know him, I mean, he is just as nice as they come," Haley said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends" on the morning after her Republican National Committee speech. "But we saw what happens when you try and be nice at the United Nations."

While President Barack Obama and Biden were in office, "everybody was running over America," said Haley. "Biden, he is weak on foreign policy. He wants to raise taxes, which is going to hurt 82% of Americans if we go through what he is doing. They want to put all these regulations down on small businesses. I mean, truly, it would be a disaster to see a Biden-(Kamala) Harris presidency."

President Donald Trump is putting the United States first, she said, and the country needs him for four more years.

Haley also appeared on "CBS This Morning," where she spoke out about the violent protests taking place nationwide.

"I can tell you from South Carolina, we know what it's like to have a dirty cop," said Haley. "We dealt with one when one shot Walter Scott in the back multiple times when he was unarmed, but we came together. We talked about it. We passed the first body camera bill in the country. We didn't have the riots and the rage, and that's what this is all about. Lawlessness will not make progress."

She also defended Trump's response to the coronavirus pandemic.

"One of the things that will go down as one of the best things the president has done is loosening up the regulations so that pharmaceutical companies can actually help us get a vaccine," she said. "We're going to have that by December. We're going to hopefully have everybody treated and next spring it will be a new day. But we are now trying to push through that. Are the lives that we've lost okay? No. That's why we're angry at China. That's why we want them held accountable."
