Marches calling for stricter restrictions on guns will be held in all 50 states later in March, Politico reported Tuesday.
A march in Washington, D.C. will be held March 24. Nearly 400 protest marches are being organized in addition to the Washington event, in cities such as Fairbanks, Alaska, Belfast, Maine, and Mission, Texas, the report said.
Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun control advocate group that is helping to plan the event, is giving out $2.5 million in grants to up to 500 student organizers to help the organizers pay for the organization of the marches, the Politico report said.
The organization posted a site to help people find marches near them.
"On March 24, the kids and families of March For Our Lives will take to the streets to demand that their lives and safety become a priority, and that we end gun violence in our schools and communities," a statement on the site said.
