Voters in the U.S. territory of Guam have by a large margin chosen Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump to be America's next president.
According to the Pacific Daily News, 32,071 Guam residents cast their ballots this way in a straw poll:
- Hillary Clinton (Democrat): 71.63 percent.
- Donald Trump (Republican): 24.16 percent.
- Emidio Soltysik (Socialist): 4.22 percent.
The results are moot because the island has no members of the Electoral College.
But the newspaper says Guam residents have correctly chosen the winner of each presidential race since 1980, when the first presidential straw poll was held.
Guam, a 210-square-mile island governed as an unincorporated and organized territory of the U.S., is located in the western Pacific Ocean and is 15 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. It is the largest island in Micronesia.
