With middle class Americans still unsold on the benefits of the new tax reform law, a Republican group has launched the first of a $10 million ad campaign to win them over, The Washington Post reports.
The American Action Network (AAN) unveiled a $2 million campaign Wednesday that will target voters in 23 districts nationwide, the Post reports.
The message: tax reform is good for you, and don't forget to thank — and vote for — your Republican congressman.
"It has to be connected to the individual," Corry Bliss, who runs the AAN, told the Post. "People care about themselves and their family, and they will reward people who are looking out for them and they will punish people who are not looking out for them."
Polling still shows that a plurality of Americans think Republicans passed tax reform to help out the wealthy; the slashing of the corporate tax rate to 21 percent is permanent, while tax cuts to individuals expire in 8 years.
