A new ad attacks Democrat Jon Ossoff for raising most of his campaign donations from outside the state for the runoff to fill a U.S. House seat in Georgia.
The ad was released by the Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with the House Republican leadership and Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., The Hill reported.
The ad paints Ossoff as a West Coast liberal. It starts off with a young woman wearing a Pelosi- Ossoff- t-shirt.
"Hi Georgia, San Francisco just wanted to say thank you," she says waving to the camera.
A bearded man with braided ponytails follows and adds: "We already have Nancy Pelosi as our congresswoman, now you're going to give us Jon Ossoff, as our congressman."
He then flashes a peace sign.
Another woman, wearing a mock Pelosi and Ossoff campaign button, is seen standing along a busy street. And she adds: "We're proud that California is the leading funder of the Jon Ossoff campaign."
The ad ends with a street car rumbling across the screen. On the street car is a giant photo of Ossoff and a banner reading: "Jon Ossoff: San Francisco's Congressmen." A peace symbol is printed next to his name.
According to Federal Election Commission reports, about 95 percent of Ossoff's campaign contributions have come from outside Georgia, The Hill said.
A recent poll showed the race to be deadlocked between Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The runoff will be on June 20.
