Wildmon Endorses Gingrich as a Religious Defender for the U.S.

Reverend Donald Wildmon, founder and chairman of the American Family Association, has endorsed Newt Gingrich for president and says he is the only GOP candidate who would defend the nation’s religious heritage.

In a wide-ranging exclusive interview taped for a Newsmax 2012 Campaign Special, the former House speaker explains how he would do that.

“I think first of all by advocating that the Declaration of Independence be taught in schools on a regular basis,” he says.

“It says ‘we are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights.’ Now that’s a very profound statement that needs to be taught, I think, at every level, and it needs to be explored and it needs to be understood.

“Second is what we posted at Newt.org, a 54-page paper on judicial reform, because I want to send a signal to the judges that I, for one, am totally fed up.

“When the Ninth Circuit Court says ‘one nation under God’ in the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional, that says to me that the Ninth Circuit is unconstitutional because they don’t understand America, they don’t understand American history, and they are trying to change us into a secular country.”
