Republican Geoff Diehl, who is fighting to unseat Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., blasted her recent DNA test saying the results were inconclusive.
In an interview on Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends,” Diehl dismissed Warren’s claim that she is part Native American.
“Well, look, she has been consistently misleading the people of Massachusetts and the American people in saying that she had this claim,” he said. “Now we know there is no real conclusive proof that she has Native American identity. The real problem is the integrity issue.
“That is the fact that she claimed that she never benefited directly from claiming Native American heritage. We know that she listed herself in the Association of American College Directories as Native American and it benefited her with a job at University of Pennsylvania where she insisted she be listed not as white but as Native American and then at Harvard where she also received a position based on that.
“In fact, they put her down as a woman of color. She has been misleading people and now this test that she decided to finally take years later doesn't even provide conclusive
proof of that Native American claim.
Responding to years of public doubts by President Donald Trump, Warren had a DNA analysis done by Stanford University professor Carlos Bustamante. He concluded her ancestry is mostly European. But he said that “the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor.”
