President Donald Trump on Saturday touted his administration's actions on coronavirus during the Group of 20 (G-20) virtual summit before leaving ahead of the beginning of a side conference between world leaders about the response to the pandemic.

The president appeared with about two dozen leaders to speak at the beginning of the summit, speaking in a video conference from the White House Situation Room, reports CNN. Just after the summit began, Trump began tweeting about the election, and then shortly before 10 a.m. ET, Trump left to visit his golf club outside Washington, D.C.

Meanwhile, the other world leaders, such as French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and South Korea's President Moon Jae-in spoke during the side event on pandemic response and preparedness. Pandemic Preparedness and Response," CNN reported.

The Hill reports that Trump's public schedule shows he's to attend another G-20 session Sunday morning.

Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said in a statement that Trump discussed with world leaders the need to work together to restore strong economic growth and jobs.

"President Trump highlighted how the United States marshaled every resource at its disposal to respond to the crisis, as well as the unprecedented economic recovery of the United States on a foundation of tax and regulatory cuts, energy independence, and fair trade deals," she said.
