The Rev. Franklin Graham praised House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., on Thursday, taking to social media to say he's doing "the best job he can for our country."
"I like this guy — we need to pray for him," Graham said in a Facebook post.
Graham's support comes as Johnson is under fire from all corners — especially his own conference — over several actions, like funding the federal government and changing his mind about a supplemental foreign aid package.
"Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a hard job and not everyone is going to like every decision he makes. There are some people in Washington who just want to eat his lunch. He's trying to do the best job he can for our country," wrote the leader of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
On Tuesday, House Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., asked Johnson to resign and vowed to support Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene's motion to vacate. House conservatives say Johnson is doing the bidding of Democrats rather than Republicans.
