Fox News' Stuart Varney noted youth unemployment is at a 50-year low – prompting a plug from President Donald Trump.
Varney, appearing on "Fox & Friends" on Friday morning, said: "The economy is doing extremely well. Point number one: Youth unemployment right now this summer is at a 50-year low. I call that pretty good.
"We have a booming economy. We've got a very tight labor market, so employers are finding and looking wherever they can.
"The second item is that consumers are spending like crazy. Huge sales increases.
"We've now got double the growth rate in our economy than we had 18 months ago in the last part of (Barack) Obama’s presidency."
His comments brought an immediate reaction from Trump, who tweeted: "Just announced, youth unemployment is at a 50 year low! @foxandfriends."
