Eric Holder, who was attorney general during President Barack Obama’s administration, offered praise for Andrew McCabe, the deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, after McCabe said he would step down from the position.

Holder tweeted Monday:

President Donald Trump and some other Republican legislators have argued that some past officials at the FBI, including McCabe, were biased in favor of Hillary Clinton.

McCabe stepped down and will be on leave until his retirement sometime in the spring, a person familiar with the matter said Monday.
