The FBI raided the office of Democratic California state Sen. Ron Calderon Tuesday afternoon.

The Sacramento Bee reported, but Tony Beard, the upper house's sergeant at arms, confirmed that federal agents executed sealed search warrant.
Laura Eimiller, an FBI spokeswoman in Los Angeles, told the Bee that the search involved two separate locations, and both involved the same investigation. Special Agent Neeki Bianch said the probe did not involve "a public safety issue."
Beard said the second location was the office of the Latino caucus,
The Modesto Bee reported. The paper also said that Calderon was not present during the search.
Beard did not know if anything had been taken from the offices.
The Los Angeles Times reported that sources said the search of was part of a wider public corruption probe in Los Angeles County.
