Wisconsin is the key state in the election for securing a presidential win for Donald Trump and also for Republicans reclaiming control of the Senate, Eric Hovde told Newsmax on Wednesday.
Hovde, the Republican senatorial candidate in Wisconsin who has been endorsed by Trump, is trying to flip the seat by running against current Sen. Tammy Baldwin, a Democrat.
Trump campaigned in Wisconsin yesterday and emphasized the importance of Hovde defeating Baldwin and helping reverse Democratic policies.
Hovde told Newsmax's "Wake Up America" that "President Trump and I, working together, can achieve success not only taking back the presidency but also the U.S. Senate." He added that it was helpful having President Trump in yesterday ... Wisconsin is maybe the most critical state for the presidential election and control of the U.S. Senate over not just the next two years but for the next four to six years."
Hovde emphasized that "Sen. Baldwin has failed on almost every single account. She supported opening our border, that has caused the fentanyl crisis, problems with getting housing, and healthcare in our country.
He continued: "Obviously she has voted for all the big debt spending packages that have ignited inflation and are driving the cost of food prices up, cost of insurance, gasoline, everything you can touch. She votes with Joe Biden 95.5% of the time, so getting that message out there is what I'm doing."
Hovde vowed "to get out there and meet and talk to everybody in the state and drive my message."
He stressed that the number one issue in Wisconsin is the economy, saying that not only is the middle class being crushed, so is the working class and the elderly who live on fixed incomes, with prices rising by more than 20% under Biden.
Hovde pointed out that "records matter" and "that is what we have to focus on," emphasizing that with Trump in the Oval Office, everything was better in every category, especially in the economy.
In addition, Hovde said, "you can talk about the border, the global chaos" under Biden, while under President Trump "there were no wars, he crushed ISIS. Under Joe Biden, the world is engulfed with wars."
