President Donald Trump said Friday that he does have confidence in Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt, who faces multiple investigations.
Trump was asked by a CNN correspondent at a White House meeting with the administrator if he has confidence in Pruitt, to which he said, "yes, I do," according to Politico.
Pruitt is currently under investigation for multiple trips he’s taken while administrator, his full-time security detail, and his renting a condominium from a Washington lobbyist, among other ethical concerns, according to The Washington Post.
"The president is pleased with the job that he is doing as EPA administrator," White House press deputy Raj Shah said Thursday, according to The Hill. "However the issues that have been raised — I think you guys are all familiar with — they have raised some concerns and we are hopeful and expecting that administrator Pruitt will be able to answer those."
