Rapper Eminem slammed the National Rifle Association in a performance Sunday, Rolling Stone reported.
"This whole country is going nuts and the NRA is in our way; they're responsible for this whole production; they hold the strings, they control the puppet. So they know the government won't do nothing and no one's budging; gun owners clutching their loaded weapons; they love their guns more than our children," Emimen rapped during a freestyle verse of his song "Nowhere Fast" at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Rapper Big Sean and Parkland High School shooting survivor Alex Moscou introduced Eminem's performance.
"On Feb. 14th, a gunman armed with a legally purchased semiautomatic rifle murdered 17 people at my high school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, in Parkland, Florida. We're tired of hearing politicians send their thoughts and prayers to us and doing nothing to make the necessary changes to prevent this tragedy from happening again," Moscou said in his introduction.
The school's students have scheduled a March 24 rally to protest gun violence and school shootings, according to Rolling Stone.
"School is a place where we should feel safe, and if those elected to represent us won't do what's right and keep us safe, then we're going to be too loud for them to ignore," Moscou added.
