Democrats are using scare tactics in their effort to defeat President Donald Trump, and their vision entering their convention will be more about defeating him than it will be to outline a real vision for the United States, Rep. Doug Collins said Monday.

"They went to the left so far that they found the edge and jumped off," the Georgia Republican said on Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "But the underlying vision is not the left's politics. It's the hatred of Donald Trump. They do not like Donald Trump. This has been started since 2016. All they want to do is beat Donald Trump. They don't have a vision for how America will be. They only have a vision of beating Donald Trump."

Collins also said the claims that Trump is trying to sabotage the United States Postal Service are "all about politics," as they have a problem with Joe Biden being their nominee.

"They don't like what the election is going to mean," said Collins. "They believe Trump is going to be strong, and we believe he is going to get reelected."

He also singled out Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., accusing her of “fanning the flames of anarchy” with her comments last week justifying violence in America's cities. Pressley said last Friday that there should be “unrest in the streets” over Trump and his allies turning a "deaf ear" to Americans' concerns and "dismantling" the Postal Service.

"You know, there needs to be unrest in the streets for as long as there’s unrest in our lives," she told MSNBC.

“She is carrying the water for the anarchists that are looting and robbing and going through our cities. She’s carrying the water for those who want to defund our police and disrespect our police,” said Collins. "When you’re wanting to have more unrest but yet you’re wanting to take away our police and our security, I think that shows exactly what they’re wanting to do is keep everything up in the air because they want to get at this election and they want to blame it all on Donald Trump.”
