President-elect Donald Trump is easily reachable by cell phone, according to one Republican senator who claims Trump answers his phone even if he doesn't know who's calling.
"I called him on his cellphone, he answered it, we talked," Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker, R-Tenn., told reporters on Friday, according to The Huffington Post. "And by the way, my phone says, 'No caller ID,' so I'm not saying that has anything to do with me. Nobody has any idea who's calling when I'm calling."
The Trump transition team did not respond to the Post's request for comment.
Corker, who was previously rumored as a potential running mate for Trump or pick for Secretary of State, said Trump and his team are "an amazingly accessible group of people, it's really beyond believable access."
It's "highly refreshing that you're able to deal with people, get an answer, move on," Corker added. "I don't think there's likely been a White House like this maybe ever, but certainly in modern history."
Trump's phone use has caused some controversy for his transition process. His call to Taiwan's leader in December caused some outrage in Beijing.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the phone call could undermine the Obama administration's progress in U.S.-China relations, according to NPR.
