Donald Trump, in only his fourth tweet since being elected president on Tuesday, slammed the thousands of "professional protesters" who have been marching over the past two nights — saying that they have been "incited by the media."
Here's Trump's tweet, marking his harshest words since the election:
Demonstrators have taken to the streets in New York, Baltimore, Philadephia, Washington and other cities to contest Trump's victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton — with many carrying signs saying "Not my president." Earlier Thursday, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway posted this tweet:
Later on CNN, Conway urged the protesters to "listen to Donald Trump from his victory-night speech where he said I will be the president of all Americans, including those who did not support me and who don't support me."
Conway also referenced Trump's "great" and "professional" meeting with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office.
"America should look at that and take their cues from that," she told Anderson Cooper.
"We all love democracy," Conway added, "and I can't help but think what the conversation would be right now in the media and otherwise if this were the reverse — if Hillary Clinton had been elected and Donald Trump protesters were out there,
"Everybody would be — they would be having a canary, really."
