Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris by six points in Arizona according to a new USA Today/Suffolk University poll released Friday.
Trump leads Harris 48% to 42%, according to the poll, conducted between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24. The statewide poll of 500 likely voters has a 4.4% margin of error.
While Trump leads Harris, Republican senate candidate Kari Lake is struggling in her race against Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., who is running on the Democrat ticket. The poll found Gallego leads Lake 47% to 41%, closer than other recent polling, which has Gallego up 10 points and 13 points, respectively.
In Maricopa County, the largest county in the state, Trump leads Harris 47% to 43%, according to the poll.
Statewide, among Latino voters, Harris leads Trump 47% to 35%, according to the survey.
President Joe Biden defeated Trump in Arizona in 2020, becoming the first Democrat to win Arizona since 1996.
Harris and Trump have both been actively campaigning in the state, hoping to capture its 11 electoral votes.
More than half of those surveyed, 58% said they would vote in favor of Arizona Proposition 139, which enshrines the right to an abortion in the Grand Canyon State. Inflation and economy were considered the top issue among Arizona residents, with immigration second, according to the poll.
Other polling shows a tighter race in Arizona. Three polls were released Thursday with a FOX News poll having Trump up 3 points, a Marist poll having Trump up 1 point, and a Bloomberg poll showing Harris leading by 3 points.
A New York Times/Siena poll released on Monday had Trump up 5 points.
